I dare say...

What if it isn't that we see the world as we are
But we see the world as what we have come to know it to be?

To see the world only as we are is much too shallow.
It is as if to say we've never heard another's inner dialogue.

That we've never considered an alternative perspective.
How can we only see the world as we are after reading anything?

I dare say, if I only had my one opinion rattling around in my head
Life would narrow into something close to a self-absorbed abyss.

If we did not have some competing ideas to wrestle with
What would even be the point of our human existence?

Even Eve was confronted with a dilemma
And she was perfect, born without sin.

She was cursed the moment she was faced with opposing opinions.
The folly of naivety. Of only seeing the world as we are.

In her defense, it was also, at that time, all she knew of the world.
Since then, our knowledge of the universe has compounded.

And through the acquired experience, we've gained more wisdom.
However, it does require further excavation and personal exploration.
