Let me speak first of the ache of it,
So as to not mislead
Those to whom it is still new or
Yet to be discovered.
Love will tear your skin and break your bones.
It will grind you down into fine dust,
Only to breathe life back into you,
To rebuild you again and again.
Love is always on your side.
It is found within you and
All around you.
It is stitched into your every fiber
And every tissue.
It explores every possible outcome
And passes through you.
It is both wave and particle.
Moving at various speeds
And across varying distances.
Love is exceptional, but
Love is often helpless.
Love needs your two hands, your two feet,
It needs the breath in your lungs and
The heart within you — beating.
Love requires you — to take action.
It needs a filter to be well-defined and predictable.
Like a dreamer, Love imagines
The unimaginable,
Love disregards the laws of this realm.
It operates on its own platform.
Love pushes us to question
The limits of what we call reality.
Love does not sit quietly,
It scratches at the door to be let out.
It craves attachment and searches for itself.
But Love does not replace Free Will.
You can run from it, you can avoid it,
You can choke it off or
Snuff it out.
Love is not a tyrant,
It does not dictate its place
In your every cell, Love knows
Its importance, the integrity
It creates, it waits — for you
Love, a resonance — resonate.
Love cannot force itself upon you,
But Love doesn't leave you.
Love doesn't go anywhere else,
It doesn't dissipate.
No matter how hard you try to ignore it.
The most annoying part is knowing
It's right there, within you.
You are it, it is you, embraced.
Love is demanding and stubborn.
It does not accept your sloth or
Lack of motivation.
It will yell and squawk at you,
A canary in warning,
Not to be dismissive
Of the smoke and mirrors.
It is relentless in its own pursuits.
Love exists for the sake of itself,
But Love is here to serve you.
When you align yourself with Love
You align yourself with the highest good,
And its growth is exponential.
To pursue anything less worthy than Love
Will only depreciate your value and
The lives of those around you.
Love is not instant gratification.
Love does not answer every call or text.
Love isn't waiting for reciprocation,
Or on a timeline that can be reset.
Love is patient and kind,
Gracious and merciful.
Love generates and dismantles,
It exasperates and quells.
Love forges you in fire and
Hardens you in bitter biting winds;
It batters you with waves and
Scatters you like sand, but
Love is a superpower.
That might at times feel a burden.
But Love is a burden worthy of bearing.
Love is a weight to carry with pride,
A branding and a battle scar.
In Love you are a part of something—
A part of everything—
You are the greatest prize and
The most unworthy beggar.
In Love you are surrounded by richness,
Out of Love never nearer death's door.
Love weakens us, but it is our strength.
It joins us together
On our best and worst days, yes
Love requires faith. Drawing us in mass
Leading us to our maker.
Through whom we learn how to Love.
Time is little, no consequence to, Love
An expanding space, a plane, point, and line
Fundamentally undefined,
Full of holes, ancient remnants, and twinkling lights.
Love demands more from us—
Not from others— and
Sometimes Love must be done from afar.
In learning how to Love we learn
To Love — ourselves, all of
The challenges of Love:
Not giving ourselves over fully,
Or watching those we Love
Embrace it half-heartedly.
Many will fall in and out of Love.
Aligning themselves only temporarily
To gain the benefits, but
Rejecting the covenants,
Unable to let go of temptations.
Love will magnify pain,
Among all the other emotions.
Love is not a shallow tide,
It connects us deep in space and time
And we experience the breadth and depth
Of the universe in Love,
The ancient star dust within us,
The building blocks of life—
Nothing less miraculous than Love—
Full of dimensions hidden from our retinas.
Like playing with Infinite Powers,
Love is not for the faint of heart.
It is not a folly journey
To embark on a whim.
It takes some basics,
Like crawling, walking,
And speaking in Love.
And we are only the children,
Learning to wield God's greatest weapon.
We must turn to him in our doubt.
For he knows all too well
The war we are up against,
The swell of life's suffering.
In Love it can overwhelm, but
It is in Love that we find true meaning.
So when you hear the gentle knock,
The tender thought, or
Nudge of another's will to Love,
Let Love align you.
It may produce a path to follow,
Or set course in opposite trajectory,
But trust in Love to get you
Where you are going.
And in distance or in disappointment
Remember God's Love
Does not turn off or on
It is always waiting to guide you
Back to the source of it all.
