Did you know your self-worth as a young child? Did it ever cross your mind how powerful you were; the miracle of each breath you took. Did it ever feel like the air was stolen for you from someone else, or that it was a gift to you, free without a cost.
Did you know your self-worth as you took your first steps? Did you feel the ground you walked on belonged to anything other than your feet, or knees when you’d fall. Could you imagine that this was not yours to once again stand upon.
Did you know your self-worth when you learned how to jump, to cartwheel through the fields? How your hands held you up even when your legs wobbled and kicked landing in a heap, were you not still proud? The act itself feeling an accomplishment.
Did you know your self-worth when the bully pushed you down? Did you forget the power in standing back up upon the very earth that god had gifted you. When you gasped for air, that could not be denied, with each punch. Did you forget, is that why you chose to stay down.
Did you forget what you had been given? Choice. A Free Will. The ability to continue to breathe, to become … The Great. Did you forget your self-worth, thus taking no action to overcome. Blaming the bully for what they had done and defining now ‘Power’ as an image of them.
Did you forget? Your self-worth was not tied up in them, but the feet you stood on, and the air in your lungs; the hands you used to shape your world, even when upside down. Did you know your self-worth through the actions you took, making you strong. Integrity and character established must be practiced lifelong.
